Very good; plenty of life still. Not as intense, long or ethereal as the Wehlener Sonnenuhr Kabinett from the same vintage, but excellent for the (considerably lower) price.

moldy cork crumbled so filtered it. In the decanter could see currants swirling with different viscosities. The palate was a faded but still delicious sweet peach nectar yet not cloying. Quite refreshing with a grilled salmon in a light teriyake sauce.

Dinner party w Judy & Mike Mesken, and Arlene & Paul Rogoff. 1/2 used in preparation of Ellen's Pear, Blue Cheese, Walnut, and Pomegranate salad. The remainder served with the salad. At last an opportunity to serve an off dry wine, which even ELLEN liked. As all of Johann's wines, this continues to improve in the bottle. Much better, or developed than my previous bottle, a year and a half ago. (DID YOU KNOW that in the late 1940's, at the renowned NYC Jockey Club,German Riesling's were priced = or higher than 1st Growth Bordeaux!!!) One should be mindful of the fickle fashion in wine. P.S. - My wine did not at all reflect the negative previous criticism of other Cellartracker's!

Dinner party w Gus&Jeannie Vidauretta; and Rob Barlick. Served as aperitif and w Asparagus Veloute w Chevre. Has developed a little weight with a light fizz and a touch of residual sugar. Not quite as dry as I would have preferred, but a good wine.

Has finally achieved its potential. Wonderful now, great acidity and slightly trocken. J.J. Prum's require PATIENCE!
