decanting opened up an early dark fruit burst then a smooth transition to the veg I got on the nose... 'long, dark, and deep' tannins on the finish. enjoyed!

Still somewhat harsh and young but surprisingly muted and very complex very very good high end very limited production Napa bordeaux blend enjoyed recently with Kim at a charity wine tasting at a neighbor's house. Too expensive to be any kind of a QPR but I highly recommend this wine - it is very good and has enough structure and tannic backbone left for at least another decade of cellaring and the aging and evolution potential present in this wine is unreal. Along with aging I would expect the ratings score to improve significantly - I see this as a 95 - 96 point wine at it's peak. What a nose - aromatic, big and bold with lots of dark stone fruit, baking yeast and spices and black pepper. Primary flavors included dark plum, blackberry and blueberry, earth, tar and granite with development of black pepper and smoke.

Nice red, still going very strong. Lacking a bit of concentration that I prefer, but overall nothing to complain about!

Points for nose and palate but finish turns tart sour cherry. Not the tannins causing the problem here.
