Absolutely stunning wine. Red fruits, silky tannins. Dark cherries, slight earth. Light pepper. High acidity. Perfect to drink now, over next 5 years it could hit its peak.

The nose made a great first impression with fruits laced with vanilla. The wine was balanced from beginning to end. Very slightly tannic but absolutely drinkable with moderate acidity and a little spiciness.

Tasted this together with the 2007. Single vineyard Brunello, grapes planted at the top of a hill whose ridgeline resembles a dragon tail, hence the name. Ripe sweet cherries and strawberry creme savers. Soft and velvety with mouth coating glycerin. Supremely approachable and drinkable. Entering this note now a month after the visit, the memory of the experience remains intense and pleasurable.

Great Wines of Italy with James Suckling (Moore Building, Miami, FL): Excellent Brunello for its harmony between fruit and body. Sitting between traditional and modern style, this one is a beauty to relish
