Double decanted and left open for 2 hours. Grippy at first, became integrated soon after. Beautiful black fruit but would not say Northern Rhone, more like Arnot-Roberts, they have their own style. Could have aged further, lots of white pepper at first but that disappeared with time. Easy to pinpoint the varietal.

I was expecting more from this bottle, and I remember my last one, from a few years ago, showing better. Could be on the decline, or perhaps this is slightly off. There is some telltale cardboard aromas and clipped flavors on the palate, and while I am not that sensitive to TCA, methinks this is corked. Even with that factor, I expected an old world profile given AR style, but this is rather nondescript. Certainly a more elegant, red-fruited version of syrah, but not particularly compelling, and it seems a bit tired now too.

Drank as a pop and pour. Though enjoyable definitely very young and primary with an almost effervescence to it. Smokey blackfruit, olive brine, and minerality are there but not fully exposed behind the acid. Needs 5 more years or a long decant.

Really delicious Syrah. Opened up nicely after it had time to breathe. Should only get better with age.

Really an enjoyable syrah. Can taste the "green" from whole cluster fermentation. Way better after about 2 hours.
