MNB: Washington (Home (Noe st)): (blind) Medium yellow color. 6g RS. Slight shower curtain on the nose - not very expressive. Slightly oxidized which is weird, and a bit of ripe nectarine. Shows a bit of alcohol on the nose.
6-7g RS, 13% alcohol (actually 13.4%), medium plus acid, quite bitter. Overall I might blind this as a basic Alsace AOP. It's a little hot and bitter.
2017 Riesling, Washington, Colombia valley. $17 Stainless (despite oxidation evident from the color). Estimated pH: 3.2 (actually 3.25) 5.8
Actually: Savage Grace 2015 Gruner - underwood mtn vintage, columbia gorge, $20
Analysis: on retasting, the acid is high! and the bitterness is high - from skin contact. I really don't get the cruciferous vegetal notes... and the TDN impression is way down. Compared to classic gruner, this is missing some aromatics and is pretty bitter.

Agree with jmcmchi's sherbet and (cooking) pear descriptors. The bouquet and palate also offer tropical and stone fruit, honeyed, and chalky elements. Well structured, with attention grabbing grit. Similar to Loire Chenin Blanc wines, made in the chewy style.

7/17/2016 - jmcmchi Likes this wine:
Sherbert on nose
Nice acidity, almost peardrop on finish with licorice spreading wide
Slight unctuousness, very long
For my taste, this is more appealing than 2014
