  • Had this blind and picked is as a Spanish Albarino (it has that lifted perfumed aroma that good Albarino has) but it is actually a blend of Godello, Albariño, and Treixadura. Interesting. Disconcertingly, there was a lot of spritz when poured - to the point of bubbling in the glass - and not that delicate fine line of elegant bubbles you find in champagne - this was wild and random! Given a few minute, it did settle down somewhat, thankfully.

This is a wine that tastes like it is from somewhere, which I like - it tasted Spanish, although i don't know Spanish wine regions well enough to have specifically pointed to its origin. And it's got quite a stony aspect to it, along with stone fruits (peach, nectarine, apricot), and a hint of canned tropical fruits (in a positive sense). There's also a hint of what seems to be oak-drived vanilla and complexity, although I'm not sure it sees any oak at all. Medium length. Anyhow, I liked it quite a lot, once I got over the volcanic-like bubbling!
