Nose - fresh, oak, medium intensity, vanilla, toasted coconut, butterscotch. Sadly, everything but fruit.
Palate - medium plus acidity, fresh on palate, medium alcohol, flavor intensity medium plus, finish is medium plus, medium body, slight bitterness on finish. Again, the one thing I really don't taste is distinguishable fruit. The oaky qualities take over. It's not like drinking wine from a cedar chest, but it's clearly not about the fruit...at least not to my palate.
In general, this is more a traditional (historic) California chard. I don't think it was made bad, but perhaps they weren't working with the best fruit. It's bar caliber wine by the glass wine.
