Quite baffled by this wine. I've now had six bottles; the first four were very good and these last two have utterly fallen flat. Thought the last was flawed, but it's become clear that there is either significant bottle variation here or the wine has entered some strange dumb phase. No harmony, and it's become diluted and angular, with the fruit becoming tart and even sour. No depth and no structure. Most unfortunate, but it really isn't even pleasurable to drink now.

Always get a little nervous when buying Aussie Shiraz, for fear of fruit bombs, but this one is nice. Not shy on rich dark fruit, but acidity is excellent and there's a great deal of tannic structure. Has an interesting smoky, meaty note underneath. It's crazy cheap at Costco and drinks like a wine four times the price.

Stewed or something. Just very off from where it is normally.
