Medium gold color with somewhat muted aromatics of baked apples, peaches and a hint of petrol. Flavors of baked apples, peaches, petrol and a squeeze of lime on the finish. Somewhat big-bodied, with sweetness that is more typical of a Spätlese. It could use a touch more acid, but drinking nicely at this stage of development with many more years of life ahead. Tasty and a bargain at $15.

Awesome bottle. I've had a little bottle variation with this producer, but this kabinett was stunning. Very fresh fruit, acidity, clean, and long on the palate. Great quality and value.

Memorial Day weekend wines at Mike's: A new winery for me (and it took some time to write it down). nice wine though. Lots of petrol on the nose, which I like. Also some wet stones. Very sweet and seemed much sweeter than I would have thought. Its a big wine in body, fruit and sugar, but pleasant and bordering on outstanding. It worked well on this evening, so I give it the benefit of the doubt.

Freedom Pies (Convivio): Better a few years ago, apparently. Now, this is way too sweet and fat and not nearly acidic enough. The fruit's turning mature into that diesel-fuel thing.

(Carl Schmitt-Wagner Longuicher Maximiner Herrenberg Riesling Kabinett) Light creamy petrol nose; more elegant entry, sweet fruit with some delicate acidity; short-medium finish
