Dark ruby in color with a pinot nose hiding behind lots of fruit. It is still too closed to enjoy within 60 minutes out of the bottle, and after that it begins too open only very slowly. This wine will not be good choice to match with food until it begins to moderate and be less of a dominating presence; it will not enhance the flavor of the food.

Earthy nose of smoke, classic oregon pinot. Nice finish of cherry. Opened up nicely with a half hour decant. This is better then last one, Should be at it's peak.

This is a confusing wine to rate. The nose and the initial fruit are impressive, but there is a harshness to the initial tasting. It moderates over 45 mins, and may even meld into the overall structure in a couple of years, but not yet.

Extremely closed at this stage, even on day 2. Just not giving up much on the nose or palate.

Backstreet - Oregon and Washington (Backstreet Wine Salon, Phoenix, AZ): Hint of sulfur but the fruit carries the day. The tannis are drying but not distracting - need some aging. Good acidity.
