Light gold. Beautiful nose: a whiff of struck match then into just-caramelising butter. On the palate, rich but dry, complex but immensely enjoyable. (If it wasn't so darn expensive I would drink this every week for the sheer pleasure of it.) 13%, cork.

Greeny gold. Fantastic, seductive nose: caramel and struck match. On the palate: rich, dry, very long. I keep thinking GOLD. Drank this alongside a top NZ Chardonnay, which was fantastic - but on the night the sheer class of the Burgundy was (somewhat contrary to my expectations) the stand-out bottle. 13%, cork.

Rich and full, but beautiful freshness ensures balance. Caramel notes come through on the long, fine finish. Solid gold quality. 13%, cork.
