Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 80.5 points

  • We pretty much agree with another poster on this vintage of Poiema Pinot, except for the point score. Quite light cherry color. The nose indicates decent fruit of strawberry and raspberry, which is discounted in the taste. Very light, heavy on the tannins. There is terroir here with clay/gravel undertones. It did much better with food, which you’d expect with the tannins and terroir. It is not a 75 point wine by our system. 75 points would be an undrinkable wine. This one is drinkable and decent with food. We just won’t be buying more.

  • I guess I just don't like this kind of wine. Very bright red, young, weak aromas, not very well balanced (too acidic), weak after taste. To be delightful a light pino should have some finesse but this one just doesn't. I'll try another bottle to see if it was a defect, otherwise a wasted purchase.
