  I had the 2012 version of this wine a year or so ago and liked it, but this bottle was unimpressive. Dull nose suggestive of some VA and not much else -- perhaps a hint of cherry and earth, but I was left wondering whether my bottle was lightly corked, just enough to suppress any aromas, or perhaps that was just reduction. On the palate, the wine was austere with drying tannins, a thin mid-palate and some VA, but also some flavors of strawberry, pine and black tea that picked up on the finish. No score assigned as I'm not sure I had a correct bottle -- I have one other with which I will retaste this wine within the next month or so.
