Past prime, spoiled, veg'd out, undrinkable. I got behind on cellar management and I'm now drinking through bottles beyond CT drink-by dates. This one shows 2016-19 window. I had one last week that was typical Loring - bright and light - maybe lacking depth if anything. Not great but still very drinkable. However, this one is off. It's my last bottle of four, bought as 'futures' originally, direct from winery. Time to work through more old juice!

Acidity is softening. After sampling last summer, we let these sit another year. They're more enjoyable now. I much prefer both the 2014s and 2016s, but '15s are improving, still quite good, and still distinctly Loring.

Rich aromatics right at the pop. Picked up some surprising broccoli too; perhaps reduction. Drinks nicely once some air settles the acid. Loring owns QPR.

Finally hit its stride with everything in balance.1.18.17: Second tasting represented a fairly improved experience over the first. We'll disregard the first bottle as off or suffering from shipping shock; however, this is still a departure from previous Loring SRH vintages. While presenting a discernible bouquet, it's still one dimensional with only whiffs of oaky graham cracker. This bottle was vibrantly acidic (young), but the palate profile is also one dimensional presenting tart cherry juice and a dash of spice---that's it. 11.22.2016---1st tasting: (85) A significant departure and decline from prior vintages, especially '14. The nose is muted, and lacking acidity and any touch of tannins, the mouth feel is waxy and dull without vibrancy and structure. We're curious if this young wine will improve, but don't have any expectations because it's missing the parts to do so. Holding off on tasting next bottles until spring '17.

This is improving. It's calming down and some of the sharp acidity is starting to dust off as I had hoped. The flavor profile is getting in line with the 2014 vintage, albeit latter in the maturity curve. In another year this will be drinking nicely.
