Outstanding example of how a well-made but oakey Sauvignon Blanc can improve with some cellaring. The pronounced oakiness of its youth has devolved into something elegant, complex and ethereal. Very effusive nose of coconut milk, roasted hazelnut, lemon creamsicle, and ground nutmeg. Fulsome pallet of ripe pear/apple fruit, with honey/nougat, pistachio, Myer lemon, toasted marshmallow, and nutmeg oil. Long finish that continues to cycle thru the complex flavors and aromas. Served with a salmon, asparagus and goat cheese tart in an olive oil crust—an absolutely off-the-hook pairing from which both individuals benefitted.

Hall tasting: Same as all of my previous notes except I took this down a couple of ticks for just being plain 'ol boring. This most recent taste was even more blasé than I remember before. It was "fine," the way everybody and their mother makes "fine" Sauvignon Blanc, but totally forgettable...even all the while kicking back outside on Hall's back patio on an awesome 78 degree Napa afternoon. "I'll just have another water please."
Al in all, a basic throw down SB where the conversation is over before it starts. Even as a "palate cleanser" (whatever the heck that even really means), it provides instant amnesia of the senses.
...Wait, what was I talking about......??

Outstanding Sauvignon blanc. Crisp, clean, taste of apple. Nice viscosity.

Nose of lemon and pine. Not too strong.
Palate is refreshing and smooth. Nothing too exciting but nothing admonishable. I'd say it's very nice. Balanced if not boring.
