Another Spring Cellar Thinning Victim: Tragedy as an instance of simply waiting too long. Some brick color at the edges. Not much on the nose at first. Faded fruit and what remains is not all that interesting. Wants to be an aged Gevrey but simply doesn't have the stuffing. Oh well...

Tasted March 25, 2006 at an offline so brief comments only. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Dusty rose color in the glass, slight dusty hue. Nose of red cherries, spice and red berries. Flavors were pretty much the same as the nose but overall the palate left me wanting. Just didn’t come across to me as a good wine. Value is unacceptable. Drink now.

Drinking great right now. Good example of CA pinot, not overly dynamic, but great blueberry flavor. Paired well with smoked salmon, and blueberry dessert.

With ham and augratin potatoes plus our daughter Marissa and son AR home for Christmas. Vibrant nose of smoky plum, cranberry, and wild strawberry; combined with notes of tea, leather, and citrus blossom. The mouth is rich and silky-ripe cherry, rhubarb, sweet vanilla, and toasted oak. Firm acidity and delicate tannins lift the palate and prolong the finish of spiced red fruits.
