Very Good, Very funky nose on this one. So much so that I was worried. But this wine was very balanced. Little raked leaves on the mid palate, that melts into light red fruit and tannins on the finish. Enjoyable.

The Wines of New York State (LIWSF, London): 12.8% A tarry liquorice nose with black fruit and some violet fragrance. Sweet fruit palate: black fruit with some concentration. Big finish with significant tannins after. Very Good.

This is a lovely bottle of wine, but it has a poor QPR. There is perhaps no better place to purchase a Cab Franc from than Long Island. This certainly is not the best that Long Island has to offer, however. It is quite nice nevertheless. The tannins are soft and supple and the nose is quite pleasant. What makes this less than exceptional is no real finnish and little complexity. I also feel that it is way over priced.

(WOLFFER CABERNET FRANC) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-interesting; asparagus & Brussel sprout; camp fire; then a really focused essence of blackberry; Ricola aspect; TASTE-good Cab Franc; good firm tannins; dark black chocolate on the finish; blueberries & blackberries; very rich & explosive mouthfeel; subtle sardines; vegetables galore (bell pepper, celery, brussel sprouts); like a very good Chinon; GV-91
