  • Still drinking well. Good acidity, tanginess and some sweet/honeyed notes (but a dry wine). Lemon and lemon pith, and some mandarin/peach/mango fruit to finish it off. I am enjoying this wine.

  • Jean's Block Riesling. Dry to slight off-dry but crisp and refreshing acidity and flavours.
Clone 49 Riesling – divided into 2 and used 2 yeasts for the ferment. Ferment lasted longer then normal, almost 2 months.
Aromas are pretty with some petrol,apricot/peach, lemon, and green apple. Really pleasant and soft.
Flavours repeat with a nice honeyed off-dry-ish/dry intensity. Bit of that lemony-petrol developing. Really smooth and easy drinking. Crisp and refreshing, light to medium weight and intensity. Getting some peaches and green apples as well. The beginning opens with a bit of the sweet notes followed by the zesty tang. Nice overall balance. I still have 2 more bottles so it will be interesting how this develops over the next half dozen or so years.
