Well, this wine was much improved from when I last had it a few years ago. Tannins are nicely integrated. Medium bodied, red with some brown color, red fruit, tar and leather. Quite nice and still has good life ahead of it. Drink now to 2028.

I did not take contemporaneous notes, but I was a little disappointed that this Boralo was good but did not have the complexity I was expecting, even on day 2. It is certainly full bodied and still young for Barolo, so I might wait until 2018 to open the next bottle.

The tannins are surprising subdued but the wine is just a little flat and not as interesting or complex as I would expect.

Still very tannic immediately after opening. Going to let it sit for a few hours in a burgundy glass and see how it develops
