  • A Feinherb Riesling, i.e. a wine with some residual sugar. 12% alcohol, 14 g/l residual sugar, 7,6 g/l acidity.

Quite deep neon yellow-green color. Very rich, ripe and fruity nose with aromas of pronounced honeyed character, dried pineapple, some peach, a little bit of perfumed floral character and a hint of steely minerality. Overall this wine smells pretty much like a Riesling dessert wine. It is ripe, off-dry to almost medium-sweet and slightly oily on the palate, but also very light on its feet and almost weightless for its sweetness at the same time. There are vibrant flavors of ripe stone fruits, gummi bear candies, some honeyed richness, a little bit of beeswax, light red apple tones and a hint of wet stones. The acidity feels moderately high, offsetting a little bit of the sweetness and keeping the overall mouthfeel very balanced and enjoyably fresh and structured. The finish is ripe, off-dry and quite mineral with flavors of sweet golden apples, some wet stones, a little bit of honey, light mineral notes of steel and a hint of beeswax.

A very nice and pleasant off-dry Riesling with good balance, nice sense of structure and wonderfully light and airy overall character - a trait that seems to be very typical in Mosel Riesling but so very hard to achieve outside the region. Overall the wine feels very approachable and perhaps even a bit of a crowdpleaser, but since it is so tasty and stylistically typical for the region, I don't mind. A lovely wine that's priced according to its quality at 17,89€.
