  • Delicious and textured. Similar notes as three years ago. Re-buy if I can..

  • White and yellow peach, cantaloupe along with some mineral and floral notes on the nose. Between light and medium bodied (7.5% ABV) with yellow peach upfront, moving to golden peach and golden apple through the middle. Some good tart notes and balancing citrus qualities towards the backside along with moderate structural acidity. Lingering notes of lemon, orange and melon on the back worth well with the richer mid-body notes. This doesn't have quite the zip of many 2015 Spatlese's and it's not in the same quality level as the 2015 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese. It doesn't have the depth, complexity, balance or long term potential of that wine. That said, it's in a good spot for current drinking with the fruit showing well and enough acidity to keep your interest.

  • Nose of honey, melon rind and cut grass. Light sweet peach, elderflower and cantaloup melon palate. Slightly sticky on the mid palate but minerality and acidity to balance. Persistent lemon and orange peel finish. Lovely. GV

  • Layered nose of honey, orange peel, tropical fruits, petrol and just a touch of mould/cork- nothing to suggest the wine is tainted though. Luscious off-dry palate that starts with a sweet attack of melon, baked apple and lemon curd. Lovely vibrant acidity balancing out the sweetness with a relatively long floral finish. Absolutely gorgeous wine which shows how delicate and elegant off-dry Riesling can be. No-brainer at this price. Can't wait to try the Sonnenuhr!

  • This was stunning and I settled on a 93 score before seeing that WS gave the same rating - for once we agree! Hints of petrol on the nose leads into a candied lemon & lime palate which is long and delicious, succulent even. There is a ripe pink grapefruit bitterness on the tail end which refreshes the palate. Perhaps the most quaffable white I have tried. Is it thanks to the great vintage or are Fritz's Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätleses always so good??
