Been a year plus since my last bottles of this, and it drinks with the same notes so won't rehash here except to say that 3 hours is still needed to get the most out of this one. Yes, it drinks very well from the pnp, but 2-4 hours of air, further elevates it in my book. This was my last of these '12s and IMO, does the '12 Napa vintage more justice than any other '12s I've consumed. Mr. Rolland sure nailed it. No hurry with these either, they will go a long, time further. Lucky you, if you have some in your cellar.

Shear's Holiday blowout 2021: No detailed notes on this one. Couldn't keep up with an epic night of wine. The one note I have is a lovely, perfumed bouquet.

Last bottle of wine on the road......escaped the wrath of Ida!
Popped and allowed to decant for 90 min. The cork was a bit dried out and came out in 2 pieces. No seepage noted.
Enjoyed over the next 3-4 hours. Perfect airtime, imo. Beautiful, classic dark red cherry fruited Napa cab nose with a hint of graphite and barrel spice. Smooth on entry, silky texture/tannins resolving nicely and a nice bead of acidity all through it. This is an extremely well balanced and well put together wine. This clearly has many more years ahead of it, if you so choose, but it's in a good place now for those who still like a lot of fruit in their Napa cabs. Not a fruit bomb, not over the top. Distinguished and just plain good.

Nose of cedar and dark fruit, hints of menthol. Black currant, plum, clove. Substantial and dark, but not syrupy.

Pop and pour. Showing beautifully with dark fruit, firm tannins, long finish of cassis. Well-made blended Cabernet.
