  • Stone and Clay, honey and herbs, driven by by a fine and delicate citrus/lemon note. Decent note of peaches in the background. Very balanced.
Has now reached the start of its real drinking window. Very long finish for a village.

  • This is a dry cuvée from the different top vineyards of Matthias Knebel, located in Winningen, the very northern part of the Mosel (the so-called Terassenmosel due to its extremely steep slopes). 12% vol.
Lastly tasted at the estate in summer 2016. Now again. Consistent good impression! Directly after opening, the nose is dominated by yeasty aromas. These fly away with time and the fruit comes through. Apple, citrus fruits, lemon. The fruit is opposed to a stony character. The palate is fresh with a good balance of acidity, fruit and mineral impressions. Not too heavy and not too light. Very well done! A successful introduction into the great wines from the single vineyards of this area!
Can already be enjoyed now but certainly for some upcoming years!
