(CORTESE RISERVA Barbaresco RABAJA) Barbaresco Riserva Dear Friends, This is what it’s all about. If you yearn for the truth in Piedmont, it is here within this bottle. I’ve been fortunate to try this wine on a number of occasions and not many wines have the chance to challenge Giacosa’s single vineyard Barbarescos but this wine does (at a far lesser cost). From a top year, this wine required the better part of a decade to sort out its complicated and angular personality. I’ve followed it form barrel, to bottle, to cellar and just now it is starting to come into its own. I predict very good things are on the horizon. Already a Veronelli “blue” 3-star signifying its status as the best in Italy, this wine deserves its day in your cellar but only for the patient and those willing to give it the time it needs to mature into a meditative and intellectual experience. Quite difficult to find in the US (especially compared to something like Giacosa), it is a true connoisseur's wine that is under priced among its competitors: We have an exceptional price on this item about the same as in Europe. ONE SHIPMENT ONLY directly from the winery cellar 1999 Giuseppe Cortese Barbaresco “Rabaja” Riserva Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy7920
