Coravined. Ruby red in color. After about 30 mins in the glass, the nose opens to reveal classic burgundian aromas of red cherries, forest floor, violets and hint of potpourri. Silky sweet-tart cherry liquer, medium acidity, good mid-palate sap and a long finish with forest floor and flowers make for a perfectly balanced wine. Wow, this is far better than a bottle opened a year ago and showcases an entry level Chambolle very well.
Ruby red in color. After about an hour in the glass the wine opens up to reveal classic small red berries, forest floor, hint of violets and minerals. The light-medium bodied palate is a bit muted with light, tart red cherries, good dose of wet twigs, bark and leaves, decent acidity and a whiff of asian spice on the finish. This is much better on the nose than the palate at this point of time.
