  An excellent representation of the Vinho Verde style, and in particular the more modern style. Gone are the austerity and slight spritz of old, replaced with greater flavour intensity and a smoother palate. The nose, though restrained, did give hints towards some of those bolder flavours while also presenting plenty of minerality. The palate, however, broke that restraint and provided a wealth of fruit: citrus, apple, pear, melon, pineapple, to name a few. Strong minerality along with savoury notes of white pepper and stone provided a pleasant balance. The refreshing acidity played a perfect role as well, providing structure without getting in the way. Complexity is tricky to speak of here, since the goal of Vinho Verde has long been as a simple partner to the region's fresh seafood dishes. This wine wasn't terribly complex, but it was certainly enjoyable and would be brilliant on a sunny patio or with food.
