Served blind, pop and pour, drank over 4+ hours. Slight bit of funk when first opening but it blew off. This wine showed a fair bit of typicity - a mix of rustic and elegant, aromatic and floral, red fruited, well integrated woven tannins, some dark wild notes (sauvage). Blind calls were all in Burgundy, some Volnay. This was WOTN for some in quite an impressive lineup. Definitely has more life ahead of it.

Medium ruby colour. Medium nose with red cherry, strawberry, black cherry, forest floor, smoke, cedar, dried herbs and hazelnut. Medium taste of red cherry, strawberry, black cherry, forest floor, cedar, smoke and dried herbs. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium (+) body. A great Gevrey-Chambertin that could benefit from some years more in the cellar. Goes well with pork or poultry.
