From Jeroboam - Showing beautifully, still relatively pale, the nose had plenty of freshness and orchard fruits, the oak was subtle and well integrated and there was lovely lift and freshness on the palate. A succulent wine with a gently mineral finish. Super to drink now but no rush if you have this in large format.

Dinner at Mark’s place (Karori, Wellington, NZ): Served double blind by Mark. Popped and poured. Pale to mid gold colour. A mealy bouquet of flint, lemon and grapefruit with straw and peach. On palate, very modern in style, I wondered about NZ before deciding the fruit profile was Côte de Beaune, guessing a 2017 Puligny-Montrachet. On the reveal, 2015 explained the ripe, rich fruit. However, here Dublère retained good, vibrant acidity in 2015. A mélange of orchard and citrus fruit flavours, not hugely mineral and with no traces of green fruit. Drinking well here but probably a shorter term proposition (I’d drink before about 2025). My prejudice against 2015 white Burgundies – at least at the “better” level – is gradually being turned around …

Not quite as elegant and minerally as I remember it being, but this has the weight that I associate with 2015. Very gentle oak use here, with a slightly aldehydic nose showing a bit of pear and marzipan. The palate has sufficient acidity for the fullness of the fruit.

Dinner with Blair Pethel (Chicago, IL): My favourite of the two 2015 Chassagnes -- this was much more suited to my palate. The story of the day is very dense minerality, as well as a fruit profile that seems a little more subdued or clamped down. I love the intense mineral extract here. It feels like it sticks to your palate. The ripeness of the vintage does show through in a little bit of butterscotch on the nose.

Thursday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Lafarge, Lamarche, Château De La Tour and Dublère (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at the domaine. Really enchanting aromas show ripe orchard fruit, floral and spice elements. An odd cloudy color and slightly muted flavors right now.
We also tasted Vergers that I recall enjoying, but didn't write anything down.
