Dinner with Blair Pethel (Chicago, IL): A very bright and generous chardonnay that doesn't show any of that modernist reduction at all. This is perhaps a little wider-bodied than I prefer (and definitely broader than the Chenevottes, which I liked more), with the ripe 2015 profile showing clearly. The palate here has a touch more sweetness than I'd like as well, but fortunately, this is all deftly carried by the acidity.

This is a really nice Chassagne with very good depth and complexity to its cool orchard fruit that’s supported and uplifted by its brisk acidity.

Thursday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Lafarge, Lamarche, Château De La Tour and Dublère (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at the domaine. Floral and ripe apple aromas with some lemon peel. Similar flavors with superb textures. This is a vineyard I typically enjoy and it was a highlight for me in 2015, 91-93 point potential here.
We also tasted Vergers that I recall enjoying, but didn't write anything down.
