Very nice wine that is a bit on the overpriced side. Blueberries, creme de cassis, earthy notions, thyme, menthol and underbrush. Full bodied and a bit spicy, this is nicely put together but doesn't have the depth, concentration or purity of some of its siblings at CB. Lot of black fruit mixed in with herbaceous elements. Finishes fairly strong.

Chateau Boswell: Black cherry dominated, with somewhat invasive menthol and evergreen notes swirling around additional flavors of forest floor and spice. Medium bodied and somewhat restrained overall, with the core fruit getting trampled on by the spice and green notes (especially mid-palate). A little bit too herbaceous and numbing for me personally.

Tried at Chateau Boswell Out of the five Cab based reds we had this was my least favourite. Drinking akin to a Bordeaux style wine, it is more reserved and does not possess the warm inviting fruit forward flavours I love in Napa Cabs. This wine was none the less still well balanced, and had Christmas spices prevalent. 82% cab from Oakville, 12% Cab Franc from Pritchard, and the remainder a blend of others.
