This bottle was much better on the second day. The cherries were falling from the glass, smelled while the glass was on the table. Black fruit on the palate made me think it was going to be a fruit bomb, but the leather and smooth tannins made that thought disappear. Longish finish. Thick and luscious. Better than my last bottle.

Unfortunately, not fun to drink. Too much heat on the middle palate and the finish...quite unbalanced because of that. The underlying aromas are interesting (strawberries, currant and chocolate), but it will never compensate for an unbalanced wine. I believe this was my last bottle, so I won't be able to compare. I was expecting a lot more from this bottle after 8 years.

Very good and expressive Cab from Painted Rock, although a bit unidimensional. Offers mainly strawberry jam aromas in a very new world style. I'd recommend to enjoy it within 1-2 years...not foreseeing any big improvement, so I would take advantage of the beautiful fruitiness it currently offers.

30 mins decanted, consumed over next 60 mins. Wine was quite enjoyable, soft, round mouthfeel, felt more like a merlot blend than a Cab Sauv. Couldn't pick up any mint, tannin was soft & integrated. Good balance with fruits. Held up with with a great piece of steak.

Overall I wish it were better, but it’s ok mid week. A bit hot.
