Following our tradition of drinking one of these every anniversary weekend, this is the last of the ‘14s. Still drinking young, dark purple and grapey but totally open from pnp. Dark fruits and vanilla and nice integration, just goes down so easily. Onto the ‘16s next year.

A tradition to drink one of these every year on our anniversary or thereabouts. We have better wines now but this one holds a special nostalgic place in our hearts. Still big with ripe fruit, really delicious cocktail type wine. The 2014 is perfectly in its window and great from pnp and continued to hold up well for the hours we were drinking. After the Haut Brion this was shockingly sweet, but that was an unfair comparison (and we would never drink side by side!!)
Fruit driven with black cherry, currant and blackberry. Fun, but a little too big. Chocolate and oak notes. Good structure, but not a lot of secondary notes beyond chocolate and oak. Good with a steak.
