Rob's birthday (Lake Forest): Hard to give a rating on such an old wine. Still remarkably lively, balanced, savory and earthy. Felt more together than the Château Palmer 1959 I tasted a week prior. Still holding its age quite well.

Kracher and Roumier Dinner with Gerhard Kracher (Brasserie Margeaux - Chicago IL): Popped and poured. Great color, great fill...in fact almost so good that I was suspicious about its authenticity. But very mature black cherry with leather, braised meat and plenty of earth convinced me otherwise. Best when first poured, this was so engaging to start, then more drying and tired 20 minutes later.
