While the wine is starting to show its age when it comes to color, the palate is still vibrant and delicious with typical Pinot noir character. In a great spot now!

ABV: 13.7%. Opened this bottle to see how it's developing, only to learn that it's still way too young. Almost 6 hours after opening, the nose is extremely fragrant with roasted herbs, Christmas spice, and forest floor. There's plenty of red fruits hidden underneath the herbaceous notes, but it's currently not expressing itself to the fullest. The wine's still a bit discombobulated, even though there's good fruit and ample acidity on the palate that leads into a lengthy finish. The back label says, "The production is overseen by winemaker Ken Wright," so if it's anything like his own production, another 5 years in the cellar will definitely help. There's good potential in this wine, especially given the vintage, but we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.
2/4/2024 - Raised the score by 4 points (from 87 to 91). This wine has evolved for the better after being opened for 24 hours. The nose is still fragrant, but the herbaceous notes have subsided and the red fruits (think cherries and strawberries) are becoming more prominent. There's plenty of acidity on the mid-palate to lift the fruits and keep the wine intact, leading into a lengthy finish that keeps you salivating. If you have the patience, keep this in your cellar for another 10 years (instead of 5) and it should drink beautifully like some of the properly-aged Ken Wrights.
2/5/2024 - Raised the score by 3 more points (from 91 to 94). As I expected, this wine is fully revealing itself after being opened for approximately 48 hours. The herbaceous nose has faded into the background, revealing a nose of red fruits (think cherries, strawberries, raspberries, pomegranate, etc.). These fruit tones are kept lively on the palate by the acidity, which is still keeping everything intact. There's a cherry cola-like profile emerging, especially on the finish, which is even lengthier now. Based on how this bottle evolved over the past two days, I'd say to keep it in your cellar for another decade (until 2034). If you don't have the patience then decant it for several hours until it's ready to be served.

Looks so light in the glass and then you get the deep floral grape bees and lovely cherry berry flavor smooth drink wonderfully food friendly wine. Wa terrific in a pairing with smoked Christmas ham.

Same as earlier notes, more CA than OR in style for a Pinot. Probably has peaked but still in good drinking window.
