  The first time I drank a bottle of Mercury Rising, I liked it some much that I joined Cinnabar's wine club. Some of that may have had something to do with having finished the bottle. But it's still a delicious and very smooth, round wine. Screw cap red blend--always a plus for something to take along on a picnic. The bottle I'm tasting at the moment has been open for a day, but I'm getting mango on the finish.

  Tasted at the Saratoga, CA tasting room. A blend of Cab, Syrah and other grapes. Dark garnet color. Black fruit on the nose with cedar. Moderate to strong tannic structure, gripping. Flavors include pepper, ginger, black raspberry, black cherry and a cedar finish. Pretty unique wine, well executed but I'm not a big fan of the Cab/Syrah blending idea. They seem to fight each other for dominance in my mind.
