  Great nose... Great fruit... just a ittle too soft and sour in the finish. Really close to being fantastic.

  A bit of an oddity. We tasted many different zins at Locals Tasting Room in Geyserville, CA back in August and this was the zin that we said we liked the best. It may or may not matter that we did this tasting at the end of a long day of tastings. When I opened the bottle tonight, it was not what I thought I would pick. The wine was nice enough - spicy, possibly smoky, and fruit forward. However, the fruit was almost on the verge of syrupy sweet (though the consistency was not syrupy at all - something I have noted in some late harvest zins). I guess I was expecting more of a deeper, darker character. We finished the bottle happily, so not too many compaints. I liked that the alcohol was only 14.5% (on the low side for a zin these days).
