At Wine Society Dining Club 251st dinner. WOTN, really lovely velvety taste and a superb nose. Over the dinner was revealed as Lafite's third wine. Long finish. Drinking well above it's classification.

In the glass the color was beginning to turn a lighter purple with some hints of maroon appearing on the edge. The nose had aromas of some cedar and damp earth - but also hints of green pepper. The weight on the palate seemed light for a bordeaux - and again was dominated more by green vegetables than dark fruit. The fat from brie cheese helped smooth it out a bit - but overall it was just an average and unremarkable wine.

I didn't expect much here and was proven right. The nose was alcohol, sharp and nothing pretty. The wine improved at day two, but still was thin with nothing on the back end. I will not be purchasing this again.

Excellent balance with a smooth finish. Plenty of character, with the right amount of dusky fruit.

Pleasantly surprised. Good flavor - berries, more red than black. Not much length but fine for a Monday night.
