Poured into a decanter, displays a deep, ruby core, surrounded by medium garnet edges. Early phase of maturity. Complex aromatics and flavors. Savory, mineral, herbaceous, spice and dried fruit notes with rocky, red graphite underneath. Fine grained tannins and medium acidity with balsam wood provide a solid framework, one which can support additional cellaring for another 3-4 years. Solid, long finish. Easily stood up to the roasted rack of lamb, brown rice and steamed asparagus. Drink through 2027.

Held on to this a few years--awesome now.Opened for New Year's Eve NY Strip dinner--and it may not make it that far. Beautiful garnet color, powerful berry nose. Classic Cabernet. I was dubious at the Heitz Martha's Vineyard comparison in the WA review--but this is a terrific wine..

Carmelo is back! My own experience and other TNs had me worried this was over the hill, but no! Wow - this was stunning. Beautifully integrated and mature. I don’t think this will revolve much further, so drink up soon, but for now - this is the real deal.

Medium garnet red with darker core. Automatic nose with savory spices, dried herbs, hint of tomato leafs and cherries. Medium and well integrated tannins (6/10) with a medium body. A bit of dust in the mouthfeel on the palate followed up by cherries, earthiness and dried tobacco. Medium plus finish. Drink till 2022.
