A group of friends participated in a virtual tasting with Gary Farrell wines. 2015 Ritchie chard, 2014 Fort Ross Pinot and 2015 Rochioli Pinot were the library choices.
I thoroughly enjoyed trying this next to the 2015 Rochioli. Shockingly, this had a higher ABV (though not high at only 14%). Whole cluster utilized here but it’s not overly green or stemmy, just really cool/breezy. Totally floral on the nose with potpourri, lavender, and underripe black cherries. Restrained on the palate with pomegranate, fleshy black cherry, herbs de Provence, black tea and really nice acidity. At 7yrs, this seems to just now be opening for business. Held easily for two days.

Tasted great, think it will continue to evolve over time. (Again the community drinking window is way too narrow....starting to think some of these folks aren't cellaring properly.) Good fruit. Great acid. Had this with a filet mignon - may have been a bit much for this bottle.
No decanting (was tempting though) and agree with previous note on a slightly funky smell on opening.

Lovely, but upon opening it was quite funky and not what I remembered. Took about 10 minutes to get it's bearings. Then it ran a lovely middle tack between a subtle costal Pinot and the tart cherry of RR. Had the body and fruit to stand up to a pizza, but was no fruit bomb. Drink now or wait another year or two.
