  Took to Mexico and kept it in my backpack for a few hours until dinner. After all that abuse, it was fantastic. Shared a glass with the staff and they were thrilled.
  Wonder what it could have been like...

  Decanted 30 minutes, and opened up over 2 hours. Let it breathe. Great wine.

  PnP, some brett early on along with blackberry and black cherry, charcoal, Asian spice, saline, the brett blew off after an hour. While better than my last bottle, not up to my expectations for one of my favorite Herold wines, This was good not great… ‘just’ 93 today.

  Really hitting it's stride. Decanted an hour and it continued to open up for 2 more hours. Long finish. Cork in great shape.

  Today was a bad day in wine drinking. After a flawed Moone-Tsai got us started, we had high hopes Kamen would deliver the goods. Alas, today was a bad day in racing . . .
  
  PnP with a shake decant and back under cork as we drank.
  
  Initial nose at PnP—old shoe leather, tilled earth, hint of mushroom, and ‘the funk’ on the nose, with a restrained BDX palate with little fruit. Somewhat worried! Those worries, unfortunately, never waned.
  
  Tried to drink over 2 hrs, thinking the funk would wear off. Wrong! This drank very much like an older Chateau Montelena, more tertiary notes and only red/black cherry and spiced plum notes. Aged beyond the normal curve and likely an off bottle. If I were drinking an ‘03 this would have been very good, but this is the second time (not with Kamen) that a ‘13 went off the cliff early.
