Disappointing vs. the expectations. I expected a vibrant (too) young wine with lots of acidity; got woody notes and a soft wine; still dry but nothing like previous bottles or tasting at the winery. Drinkable but not the great Riesling I expected.

Respect, not love In homage to Keith Levenberg's often funny blogging, to which I was led by various notes on this severe pleasure, I acknowledge Ravine's success in placing this fastball right in the catcher's mitt, 2 feet off the sugar bowl I enjoyed the opening hour-long aromatic evolution from Victorian boudoir to citric freshervescence to mid-summer native magnolia flowers, and 4 days later, I can negotiate small amounts of this here & there (the present Meyer lemon, yes Meyer lemon, not regular lemon phase is quite nice) My pairings may have been more appropriate for a sweeter Riesling, or perhaps I'll feel differently about this style on my deathbed
Wow, now I get it, a scant week after <anyone else would> opening, this has become really crystalline. If I ever get around to making mayapple wine, I'd be ok it with it tasting like this

Intense minerality, grapefruit, and an interesting grassy note.
HIGH acid that drives a powerful finish.
Probably the best Finger Lakes Riesling I’ve had. The old vines really shine in the aromatic and structural intensity. Would love to try this in 10+ years to see where the aromatics go. Based on the razor sharp acidity and diam 30, this should age much beyond that.

Fresh with firm acids. Holding up like a champ, worth holding longer. Green tea finish
