Pale yellow with a light green hue. Fragrant, quite aromatic and attractive nose with aromas of yellow stone fruits, some dried hay, a little bit of roasted almond character, perfumed apple blossoms nuances, a hint of mango and a touch of stony minerality. The wine is rich, full-bodied and oily on the palate, something not unlike a Viognier, yet the wine is a bit lighter and - above all - more fresh and focused. There are layered flavors of ripe peaches, sweet apple purée, some perfumed floral character, a little bit of black Oolong tea, a hint of apricots and a touch of stony minerality set against a delicate, complex backdrop of exotic spices. The acidity feels quite modest, medium at most. The finish is a bit lighter and brighter than the midpalate, albeit still retaining that ripe-fruited apricot richness. The aftertaste is long and delicious with juicy flavors of ripe apples, wet stones and a hint of spice.

A very attractive white wine from the fuller end of the spectrum. Despite its ripe fruit and oily body, the wine feels remarkably fresh and balanced; there is some sense of acidity, just somewhat hidden underneath the supple body. However, there isn't that much acidity to the wine so I would hesitate aging it in a cellar. Besides, the wine is so lovely right now that I really don't think cellaring would benefit it. Recommended.

  • Seems to have age, but after tasting I have to conclude it's the grape that causes it. The wine is round and juicy in the midtaste and indeed the style of the Bergeron grape (also known as Roussanne) is recognizable ending quite dry and nutty. Very interesting and original wine.
