  • 14% alcohol. Aged for 17 months in stainless steel and in French barrels ranging from small barriques to 3000-liter vats.

Somewhat translucent yet deep, brooding dark garnet color. Very ripe and sweet nose with aromatic notes of strawberry jam, some peppery spice and succulent blackberries. The wine is full-bodied and quite opulent on the palate with rich, supple flavors of dark and sweet plums, ripe strawberries, some blackberry jam, a little bit of Chambord-esque raspberry marmalade and candied hints of wine gums. The wine is quite soft and round, thanks to its medium-to-moderate acidity and very mellow and friendly tannins. The finish is juicy and sweet with opulent, medium-long flavors of strawberry jam, overripe strawberries, some peppery spice and hints of sweet, succulent plums.

This is a pretty average Barossa Shiraz, lacking a bit in structure and complexity. The fruit department here seems to be only about richness and sweetness and the lack of structure makes the wine a bit flabby and soft. With a bit more acidity the wine could've been a whole different beast. Now it's just an inoffensive, fruit-forward Shiraz with lots of ripeness and very little depth. A bit on the expensive side at 15,73€ (AUD 21,99)
