Birth-year Wines at Bacchanal (SoHo, NYC): Gold, with orange on the meniscus. A very deep, even bewitching, nose reveals orange blossom, caramel, and an edge of premature oxidation (though at this stage it doesn’t really detract from the bouquet); regal and remote. The palate is rich and creamy, crème brûlée, with a heady piña colada-like blend of coconut and pineapple; the ripeness leans in for a hot kiss but doesn’t quite place it, fortunately. Good, but not great, length. All in all, this is a little oxidized but is also very pleasurable and delicious. Drink.

Just drinkable on pop n' pour, though it fades quickly with oxidation overwhelming the remaining fruit.

Monday Night Football and Grand Cru (Chicago, IL): Oxidized. Perhaps drinkable, but far more apple cider on the nose than pleasant.
