My first tasting of this wine and vintage for CellarTracker was March 31, 2018; this is the second tasting; the cork is doubtless genuine, with a faint aroma of fruity sourness and a maximum wine penetration of 4 mm; the wine has long legs and is a very dark red/brown color; opened, vinturied and tasted immediately afterwards at room temperature, 24 degrees C; the nose is fruit forward, embellished with considerable alcohol; the structure of the wine has held up well after nine years of cellaring; if someone handed me a glass of this at a party, I'd be scratching my head at its unusual character -- considerable complexity bound up with mellow tannins; bitterness has edged aside the sourness noted in the earlier tasting, but the wine would still pair very well with umami foods, with cheese, or as a standalone; I'm sticking with my earlier 91 point assessment

14.1% alcohol, imported by Quintessential LLC, Napa; light foil, appears to be composition cork, medium legs, medium red/brown; nose of fruit & alcohol, opened, venturied and tasted immediately afterwards at ca 20 degrees C; first impressions were that it was fruit forward with berry notes, especially raspberries (my favorite), with a nice balance of tannins/sour/sweet, the sour unusually insistent, in a pleasant way, on the sides of the tongue; an exceptional mouthfeel, full bodied, somewhat complex, medium finish; pair with grilled, medium rare steak; an outstanding Argentinian wine from Mendoza

This is a very good weeknight cab featuring bright raspberry and red currant fruit with a hint of green herbs and spice. Nice bright acidity and medium tannins provide good structure. Very subtle indication of malolactic creaminess, but not much oak.
I’ve had two good bottles of this with consistent notes.

This was one of the most corked bottles of wine I have ever opened. It smelled like the wine spent its entire life in a dank basement cozied up with a dirty dish rag.
I don’t know what possessed me to take a sip after smelling it, but I couldn’t get the taste out of my mouth. I finally ate a spoonful of peanut butter to cut the mildew flavor.

Good wine-- solid cab characteristics. Good bouquet, mouthfeel, and reasonable finish. However, nothing super-significant, but if you can get it for around $13 a bottle, a decent QPR.
