Hard to assess side by side to a great, mature white hermitage from M. Sorrell. This wine seemed closed. Color coppery. Much darker than the Hermitage. But it came around very nicely after several days. Tangerines; mandarin oranges, against a buttery background. Pinot grigio most eveident and very creamy. Very nice showing, though I perhaps like their sngle grape wines a little better. Very fine showning. Antonio Galloni scolded me for suggesting that this wine was made in the Gravner style -- short maceration, lots of barrique, different technique but not dissimilar result.
