Disappointing. Distinctly browning. Tired nose of faint dried fruit and leaves. Palate astringent and green, with oddly metallic notes. All of this is tempered by food, so it’s not all bad, but there’s little joy to be had drinking it on its own.

Dark red colour. Tight to begin with, but opened up after an hour or so. Dark red sour fruit, cherry and plum, high acidity and soft mouthfeel. Very interesting and good to seek out. A wine for Nebbiolo fans.

Red cherry and licorice aromas. Medium bodied, light tannin, lots of mineral charm. Obviously, three hours in, the last glass is best. Lots of spice in the aromas. Muted five spice. Red berry and some plum. Red licorice. Medium acid, but still very juicy on the palate, with a modest floral presence.
