Not decanted, served in GlassVin stems. On day one, I was underwhelmed by this wine. Everything was good and okay, but not amazing. The initial nose was full of an early truffle-like element that was even strong than the fruit. It subsided with air. Nice, delicate pomegranate and cherry fruit, but the palate presence didn't impress, nor did the finish. Will report back on day two this evening. NR

Clear ruby color. Secondary, complex aromatics - fig & red apple skin fruit, sandalwood & cedar, green tea, mossy earth and clove spices. Equal parts rich and elegantly refined on the palate, showing waves of pomegranate & fig fruit over deep secondary layers consistent with the nose. Dense and fleshy through the mid-palate with fine-tuned acidity and silkiness to the tannins. Juicy, mouthwatering flavors on the finish, with good overall length. Plenty of life ahead on this one, but just gorgeous right now. Drink/hold.

I’ve always enjoyed how Au Bon Climat can make their wines taste just like it comes from Cote de Nuis. Classic burgundy aromas and flavor profile with a touch of funk/brett on the finish. My kind of California Pinot Noir.

Good acidity and exemplary balance. Structured but does not have enough fruit stuffing to last decades. Impressive California Pinot.

A real pleasure. Balanced. Mature fruit and the right amount of tannic grip. No harsh elements. Perfectly ready to drink now.
