Third bottle opened and our highest score yet. Last tasting was six years ago. This bottle just sang. I could have easily taken this as a ten year old cabernet but never nineteen years. Beautiful deep fruit, blackberries, black currants and black cherries as well as chocolate and a hint of licorice in the nose and flavor. Very well balanced and full bodied, this was an elegant wine, complex, and great texture going down. The finish was amazing. The 2004 Estate is drinking very well now but will easily go several more years . This definitely beat out the 2001 Verite la Muse as WOTN though the Verite was no slouch!

Was looking at 91-92 as a score. Not a subtle wine Over ripe and very much still going strong with huge fruit, French oak and a spicy finish. The alcohol is evident but there is huge density holding some of it in check. There is a touch of a Bordeaux style nose and early in the ripest green pepper note you will taste. Takes an hour to ease up and softens This will have years ahead of it and most likely improve. It’s a bit bolshy and brash but a likeable rogue. Wouldn’t want too many in the cellar and I imagine in 10-15 years time it’s still drinking

PNP. Bottega Louie Good balance, dark fruit with some secondary flavors The nose has a cherry aroma. The finish is long but still has some tannic bite Opening up nicely in hour two. A gorgeous Cabernet

Just a gorgeous wine. Should have filtered it as the fine sediment was significant, but this had everything going for it. Fabulous black and red berries, a little eucalyptus, a touch of sweet oak, faint tobacco, violet notes, graphite. Really coming into its own. No rush at all, and wish I had more to enjoy over the next few years. Another great reminder of the value of patience...

Last tasted in 2010 out of half bottle, this 750ml bottle scored better than it's half brother seven years ago. An elegant wine with great complexity, it's drinking well now but will easily go 10+ years. Black cherries, blueberries, black currants, blackberries, chocolate, licorice, and hints of floral in the nose. Black cherries, currants, blackberries, and chocolate in the flavor. A medium to full bodied wine with a long finish and great balance. Very impressive!
