Zinfandel from a cool mesoclimate of Sonoma. Black fruit dominate the aromas, primarily blackberry. Liquorice, tobacco and vanilla is present too. On palate a fruity attack that does not feel overly sweet as is sometimes the case of Californian Zin. Rather dark, dense and concentrated. Med++ body, acidity a bit too impotent for my taste. Mild tannins, and the alcohol dominating. Long finish without many additional layers While better than the generic typical Zin from this region this is still overpriced.

Big,bold, alcoholic with a rustic finish. Even as a Zin lover I found this difficult to drink and enjoy. No refinement or balance. Hot, with an unwine like finish that comes from? The barrels?

Very nice. Fruit forward though letting some of the 15.6% alcohol through. Oak and berries.
